Fig Jam
A naturally sweet, small-batch jam that lets fresh figs shine. Made with just a handful of wholesome ingredients, this easy recipe is delicious spread on toast, spooned over yogurt, paired with cheese, or enjoyed with your favorite crackers.
Ingredients (serves 2-4)
1 pound fresh figs, stems removed and roughly chopped
¼ cup coconut sugar
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
Pinch of sea salt
Instructions
Add the chopped figs, coconut sugar, lemon juice, and sea salt to a small saucepan.
Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
Reduce the heat to low and cook for 20-30 minutes, stirring every few minutes and gently mashing the figs with the back of a spoon as they soften.
Continue cooking until the jam thickens to your desired consistency. (It will thicken a bit more as it cools.)
Remove from the heat and let cool completely.
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Tips & Swaps:
Leave the jam slightly chunky or blend it briefly with an immersion blender for a smoother texture.
Add ½ teaspoon of cinnamon or a splash of vanilla extract for extra warmth and flavor.
If your figs are especially sweet, reduce the coconut sugar to 2–3 tablespoons.
